Woodies & Rubbers Flying Contest!

• Jirik Sod Farm  10 am on June 26th.  (weather date: Jun 27th)

• The stipulation being that the planes be made of mostly wood, with CF being permitted as reinforcement).  There would be three classes: 2 meter (Vistas and such), RES (rudder, elevator, and spoilers), and Open class(anything else).

• There will be a 2 (or 3) hour time window in which you can fly.  The LONGEST 3 flights will be counted as your score, assuming you land within the landing circles. Each second of time up, will count as a point.  For example, a 11 minute and 14 second flight would be (11 x 60 + 14=674 points), plus any landing points.

• LANDINGS.  Two circles.  Landing in the larger 25' radius IS REQUIRED to make your score count!  Landing in the inner 5' radius gives you 500 points.  No spoilers?  Then you get 100 extra points if you land in the large circle. Landing within the circle means that a majority of your plane is in the circle.

• EVERYTHING would be launched with HIGH STARTS (provided).

• You must be timed by someone else on the field (no self timing).  The other person can also be flying but must be running the stopwatch or timer.  All scores must be kept on your entry sheet and initialed by the timer.

• There would also be a "gray beard award" for the top point man over the age of 65 (we got to keep those more experienced boys in the running).

• Water and pop provided.  $5 entry fee.  AMA membership required.
