David Wood introduced himself as an interested prospective member. He and his son attempted an RC glider flight at their local school yard which ended in a "spectacular crash". Jeff Thompson suggested we get him subscribed to the email list, and that he consult rcgroups.com for beginner's info.
Matthew Nolan was introduced as the temporary club secretary.
Jeff Thompson mentioned that a new club member will be appointed in December to be the Jirik field rep.
Any fun flys previously scheduled for October will be cancelled due to weather.
Club Member Presentations
Adam Koller described his new large scale CAP gas powered airplane that he purchased at an estate sale. He said it flies great and is a lot of fun in the air.
Jeff Thompson described flying a large scale model aircraft for the first time.
Adam Koller gave details on a retail store in the Twin Cities called Express Composites. They specialize in composite materials that are used in model building. Adam mentioned the idea of having a club demo at this store and how the store clerk was very enthusiastic about the idea. Meeting attendants also expressed enthusiasm for this idea. A small fee would be required from each person attending the demo to cover the time of the store clerk, due to the demo being held after hours. More details are expected for this demo.
Steve Janstcher gave details of a group-buy that is occurring on RC groups for a DLG type glider called a Topsky. Price is approximately $220 delivered.
Swap Meet Presentation
