January 1 : Lake Harriet, Minneapolis
New Years Day Freeze Fly for sailplanes and electrics. AMA membership required for all pilots. We plan to meet on Lake Harrient just West of the bandstand for some late morning flying. Join us afterwars for a lunch and drinks at Famous Dave's on 4264 Upton. Time: 11:00-14:00.
January 23 : Southdale Public Library, Edina
Topsky DLG build session with Jim Porter. Jim will demonstrate his techniques on your plane if you want, and answer questions you may have. Bring building supplies and tools, table covering (green mats or old newspapers), cameras, Topsky kits, sanding blocks, goop, CA, note taking materials etc... Time: 13:00-17:00.
May 1 : Nowthen/Elk River
This is NOT an MRCSS event. However, be aware that the Wright Flyers will be having their 6th annual Float Fly from 10:00AM - 4:00PM on this day and the lake is about one mile from the sod fields we have soared on in the past. The Wright Flyers have obtained exclusive use of the 72MHz spectrum from 3DRC for this day and ask that we agree to the same. There should be no flying at the Northwest Thermal Park on this day unless you are using 2.4GHz spread spectrum for control. Thank you!
